Sweet Tweet: Fans Honor Dianna Agron By Helping Her Shine Light on Human Trafficking
“Dianna Agron’s birthday is one week away, and the “Glee” star’s birthday has been turned into an opportunity to raise money for the Somaly Mam Foundation in effort to fight human trafficking.
Dianna, who’s been Tweeting updates on her birthday campaign, was happy to share how much money has been raised through a group of fans, Project Let Love Reign.
Somaly Mam, the founder of the organization, was trafficked herself as a young girl in Cambodia. Now she helps girls who have been trafficked, and describes all of this in her book, The Road of Lost Innocence. Dianna has visited the foundation in Cambodia, and her fans wanted to join in. “In honor of Dianna’s birthday, we have decided to extend our efforts toward helping to raise much-needed funds for The Somaly Mam Foundation,” Project LLR posted to the donation site. While any bit helps, Dianna’s link give some specifics on what donations can do — for example, a $30 donation can supply a medical exam for someone who’s been rescued from trafficking. On top of that, they’ve also set up an online store of goodies and the proceeds go to SMF.
Trafficking might seem like a distant and surreal thing, but it’s estimated that as many as 27 million people are modern-day slaves. When it comes to taking action to help, Dianna and her fans are in good company — I interviewed Shay Mitchell specifically on her involvement with SMF, and AnnaLynne McCord told me about it and other forms of activism she does.
Birthdays don’t just have to be about cakes and presents — as Dianna’s fans show, they can also be an opportunity to shine a light on a global issue and get together the funds to help fix it.

BIG Changes for Project Let Love Reign
Hey everyone!
We hope everyone has had a productive couple of weeks back at school (or continuing with work)! As you may know, we have an ongoing fundraising and awareness campaign for Wildlife Waystation which is aimed at raising money to help their animals. In order to give back to all of you wonderful supporters and also help Wildlife Waystation, we opened an online store at http://www.PLLR.storenvy.com where we sold bracelets illustrating the phrase “Let love in”.
Fortunately, with all of your dedication, our store is now sold out! In less than a week, we sold all of the bracelets that we had ordered and all of the proceeds from these bracelets is going directly to the Wildlife Waystation campaign (http://www.causes.com/actions/1663482).
We are now looking at adding more products to this store and we will let all of you know when these products will be for sale! In the meantime, please visit the link above and donate anything you can to the campaign! The animals really need our help and every dollar helps keep an animal alive and healthy.
Besides our online store, we are also auctioning off an autographed photo of Dianna Agron and Lea Michele (signed by Dianna Agron).
